Cowrywise has just announced its issuance of the SEC Licence in the fund/portfolio management category, making it the first financial tech company to be issued this licence by the Securities Exchange and Commission.

With the licence, Cowrywise can now operate fully as a fund/portfolio managing fintech as it more than approves their existing framework.

In addition, Cowrywise will be making their Application Programming Interface (APIs) public. This will assist fund managers across the world access its services and open up more investment options to serve its customers in Nigeria better.

According to Cowrywise, “these APIs do not just apply to fintechs; any company can embed investment features in their products as their investment API simplifies regulatory compliance and technical hurdles.”
They’re also looking to digitalize their investment management infrastructure as it is an important step in the company’s vision to democratise access to investment products.

Launched in 2017, Cowrywise is a wealth management fintech startup that manages investors’ funds and grants Nigerians access to a wide range of automated, high-yield savings and investment products.
Its services are made available to clients through its web and mobile applications which has the fund manager for each mutual fund disclosed on every mutual fund’s profile page.

For people who would love to be a part of this, Cowrywise has opened early access to these APIs which you can find here
