Why You Need A FAQ Page On Your Website

In my teenage years, I never knew what the word “FAQs” meant. Often times, I ignored it whenever I saw it on various product sites (either on a product or institutionally owned). It seemed irrelevant to my eyes, so why click on it? Why channel my curiosity towards that directions? Would it help me understand the product better and know how to use it? Why was it even there in the first place? I had thought all these and more while trying to grasp the reasons as to why FAQs existed.

Recently, while talking to a business owner, she sent me a FAQ document to go through and see how her business operated and how it has grown over the years and lastly, how she was able to relate with them. I was excited at first but I almost queried why I needed to see the FAQs file. I almost asked her why she had that but I decided to tame my cat before it dies and run my research.

WHAT ARE FAQs?

FAQs which is an acronym for Frequently Asked Questions, is an organised collection of valuable information which customers ask about your products and services. FAQs forums are often used in articles, websites, email listing, and online forums where questions may tend to occur needed to bridge knowledge gaps (especially with new customers) on a particular business. The FAQ page (especially on your website) is an essential tool to organise the questions that customers would often ask. For instance, if a particular startup is centred on bag making and sales, the FAQs column would be centred on the location of the business, place of pickup incase a deal is agreed on, payment plan, how to maintain the bags from not loosing its market value, etc. Same is applicable to every sector around us – that is, from Communication to Telemedicine to Blockchain, etc.

WHY ARE FAQs IMPORTANT?

The importance of FAQs helps you to deal with key questions that may be asked by customers on your business. This helps you provide the answer before their heads pop up the question. Also, FAQs create a connectivity between you and your desired target audience – this has posed one of the most vital elements of your website strategy.

Furthermore, having a FAQ page on your website helps you reduce the stress of always providing answers to certain questions that may be asked by your target audience, that is, aiding in the navigation journey through your website without a sense of stress and helps boosts either the referred confidence or sheered curiosity already had by them.

BENEFITS OF OWING A FAQ PAGE

There are multiple benefits to owing a FAQ page. One of the most vital one is having an answer to these popped up questions that may spring whether or not you run an online or physical business.

Enumerated below are the benefits of owning a FAQ PAGE.

  1. You’re able to satisfy your customer’s curiosity
  2. Gives your business a professional outlook
  3. Boosts your Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
  4. Provide you with either your targeted profits or more.

  1. YOU’RE ABLE TO SATISFY YOUR CUSTOMER’S CURIOSITY

Your customer (whether present or referred) is one with a curious mind. Just like an open book meant to be written on, there are so much to write down on the pages of their hearts and minds, and so, with a good FAQ page, this satisfies their curiosity.

Also, this helps your boost your site’s usability, visits and conversations – so as your FAQ serves as a hub, there is a sense of interactivity between your and your customer.

  1. GIVES YOUR BUSINESS A PROFESSIONAL OUTLOOK

Remember my story. I had ignored the FAQ pages on sites but in all honesty, I trusted each site I visited that had a FAQ page. I felt they had a dashing sense of professionalism attached to them, hence, I could read more about them.

Having a good FAQ page gives your business or startup that professional outlook to the people visiting. There is also that sense of trust and confidence in doing business with you seeing how professional your FAQ looks. Many while visiting, would see their possible questions and your answers and these either lays a foundation or build up a certain sense of trust in you.

  1. BOOST YOUR SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMIZATION (SEO)

Having a FAQ page helps boost your search engine optimization (SEO) thereby providing the search engine Google with credible information on your business and how to understand it. This means that if a random search is carried out in regards to a certain product or services, your site would be one of the first to pop up.

Also, you can utilise your FAQ page to publish vital details on your business and it’s services as a means to gain traction to you.

  1. PROVIDE YOU WITH EITHER YOUR TARGET PROFITS OR MORE

The objectivity of every business or startup is to make profit. A reasonable amount of profit to help you “smile to the bank” as we’d often say is why we venture into business and with a FAQ page, you can have great sales and gain profits.

Also, the FAQ page is an advantage to your competition especially when it is properly written and directed to meet your target audience.

IN CONCLUSION

Have a FAQ page today, position it wisely and enjoy a prosperous business.
