The BBN Token: a Shift in the World of African Reality Shows
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The impact of Blockchain is rapidly changing the way the world operates. The entertainment industry has evolved from one stage to another and fans have continued to anticipate the impossible.

Reality shows began as far back as the 1990s, such as America’s Candid Camera which premiered on ABC in 1948. Creators have done more and more to make it more realistic to fans.

However, the desire to be physically present in a reality show is the height of reality. And the newly introduced Big Brother Naija (BBN) Token is making the impossible possible for fans.

The BBN Token Explained

Launched in 2006, BBN is a household competition of contestants of different ethnicity, job descriptions and religion for a period of 90 days. It is a social experiment aimed at bringing people of different backgrounds together.

All their activities are visible to fans and they all have the privilege of keeping their preferred contestant in the house through their votes.

Many sectors like real estate are being transformed through tokenization and the entertainment industry is also stepping up. The BBN Token is the biggest entertainment token out of Africa.

BBN Token (BBNT) is a fast growing decentralized blockchain social token which is built on the foundation of a growing community. It will provide the audience of the BBN show with the virtual experience of being in the House.

“BBNT is a revolution on the web3, a lot of viewers clamor and dream to be on the show but end up trying for years without any success, we need to give them a reason to smile.

We need to make them feel like winners and also give them a feel of being in the house.” Wemere Chukwudiebube, co-founder of the BBN Token said

In very simple terms, the BBN Token has opened a gate way for fans to be present at the house through Virtual Reality(VR). Hence through the initiative one can buy a space to be present in the house.

However one would have to own a VR Headset to do this. In other words although this may be a wonderful innovation. It is still reserved for those who can afford it.

The initiative began as a single thought and turned into a reality.  The Private Presale of the Initial Coin Offering (ICO) was launched on January 28th to last till February 28th, 2022. A subsidy was applied for this presale. The same subsidy will also be applied in the upcoming presale on 1st April 2022.

“What started as a random evening conversation has metamorphosed into this glaring reality, one of which we are excited to behold” said Ugonna Onyike, Founder of Hamatan Limited.

Significance of the BBN Token

The BBN Token has made room for a secure decentralised environment for trading crypto assets. This means fans can participate in the show effortlessly through the crypto market.

The BBN Token has also created a long-term reward system for BBN communities. This makes it possible for fans to acquire rewards through trading just the same way trading other crypto currency is carried out. It creates an avenue for fans to also earn as they participate.

The same crypto currency that would be used to vote on the show would be sold in the crypto market and promoted to the blockchain community.

This initiative also enables fans to hold NFTs of their choice in relation to the show. They can also buy and sell to others in the community. This community also connects fans across borders and further pushes forward the BBN vision which is Unity in Diversity.

The reality of the BBN Token will begin to make more sense to fans when the show fully kicks off this year. However those who are quick enough to key in and invest now, have an added advantage over others.
