Emojis are visual representations used to express emotion, represent happenings, and even ideas. Whether it’s a customer reply or a marketing campaign, the use of Emojis for marketing could be essential. Emojis present an opportunity for one to connect with customers in a fun, easy, informal and creative way.

These fun symbols were invented after 1990’s in Japan by a Japanese marketing agency and were adopted first by Apple and then Google, thus giving it a huge impact on the mobile market.

Even though a lot of people use these symbols, it remains unclear their influence on the marketing ecosystem. Whether your audience is young and engaged in the latest trends or prefers to stick to a more traditional approach, emoji has a place in various market channels.

Five ways to effectively use emojis in marketing include:

1.KNOW WHICH EMOJI CONNECTS WITH YOUR TARGET AUDIENCE

With so many emojis available, it is important to understand the meaning behind whichever you choose. You need to create a good strategy and make sure they are aligned with your audience. It is also important to research the platform where you would like to use the emoji that resonates for communication with your audience. Avoid the use of wrong emojis on the wrong platform.

2.USE EMOJIS IN EMAIL NEWSLETTERS

The main advantage of using email newsletters in marketing is that you have the freedom to compose whatever you want: text, images or videos. If your business constantly sends an email newsletter to clients and you would like to increase the performance of your email, the emoji is the best tool to employ. According to a study published by “mycleveragency”, it was said that more than 50% of brands across the world see an increase in email openings when subject lines include emojis.

3.AVOID CREATING CONFUSING MESSAGES

Because emojis are still a new marketing tool, it is important to use emojis that align with your message. Too many emojis or the wrong type can create a confusing message and push back your audience instead of pulling them in. emojis are meant to add fun to the actual message and not override important elements.

4.EMOJIS HELP BUILD YOUR BRAND PERSONALITY

Brand identity goes beyond the product or the logo; they have now become more personal and acting human. With emojis you can communicate your brand personality in a fun and effective way. This leads to more memorable experiences, creates a connection and builds loyalty with your customers. You could also create your own emojis uniquely for your brand which you could use when communicating with clients. Chances are it will strengthen your brand and make it more relatable.

5. USE EMOJIS TO TELL YOUR MARKETING STORIES

Research shows that the presence of emojis in online communication can help the people reading or viewing it remember the content better than messages without emojis. This could be a huge advantage to getting your audience engaged and strike an effective profit gain. Because of how fun and appealing your marketing stories will get it is most likely to keep your customers itching for more every time.

As digital marketers evolve with their customers they need to understand how to effectively use new technologies like emojis if they want to truly understand and connect with their target audience. Do not let the size of these symbols fool you; they can become great helpers for communicating with your customers, by using your unique style through important marketing channels.
