WHAT YOUTUBE SHORTS IS ALL ABOUT?
The YouTube Shorts is a new feature within the YouTube app that allows users create short videos (not more than 60 seconds) on their phones. It has amazing creation tools like multi-segment camera to string multiple video clips, record music, speed control settings, and add texts, filters and more.
The contents of the videos can include anything from workout routines, dance videos, makeup tutorials and many more. It is not a new app, rather a feature on an already existing app.
With this, YouTube is hoping to attract many high-ranking creators. It had recently announced its YouTube Shorts Fund of $100 million to be distributed over the course of 2021-2022 to reward content creators.
There are already a good number of stories of creators using this feature to increase their online following, thus, YouTube is benefiting from such creators.
The YouTube Short new features seem appealing to use by all age groups who feel they have the chance of being an influencer on a new platform.
YouTube is still calling the new Shorts feature a “beta” feature.
As of today, there have been over 6.5 billion views on the YouTube Short’s player in March 2021, according to Google. YouTube creators in Nigeria will now be able to create fun short videos using Shorts beta from Wednesday, July 14, 2021.
