How TikTok Can Make Your Content Go Viral
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

TikTok is one of the world’s most used social media platforms and its popularity has grown exponentially in Nigeria since its global launch in 2017. TikTok calls itself the leading destination for short-form mobile videos. This is so because of its amazing features that allow people to express themselves in diverse creative ways through music, dance and so much more.

According to research, the platform had over 800 million active users around the world as of October 2019, with average users opening the app more than 8 times a day. 41% of TikTok users are between the ages of 16 and 24 and 56% are male while 44% are female.

When it comes to marketing on TikTok, there is a massive opportunity for you to jump in and experiment with content and storytelling in a completely unique way just the way you like for your brand. The platform’s main appeal is that your feed is “For You”.

So how can you utilize the platform to amplify your brand effectively?

Utilizing TikTok effectively is key. The platform’s success is in generating awareness and engagements. Many advertising agencies say that users can combine entertaining and informative content in a 15 or 60 seconds short video clip that has the potential to draw in almost immediate results and viewers.

By using the following guidelines your business will be on the right path to TikTok success.

·Know Your Audience
TikTok’s demographic is made up of a large number of young users from different parts of the world. Roughly, 31.9% of TikTok users in Nigeria are under the age of 34 with the majority being between the ages of 18 and 24. But do not take the app for granted because people of every walk of life are now signing up to the platform.

To know your audience well, start by researching the content and creators who have huge similarities to your line of business, check out the posts that have the most engagement. What kind of questions are people asking? Can you answer such questions and provide solutions? Find the gaps and fill them and TikTok will continue to push you to the right people.

· Content is King
TikTok can strategically be used for business but also remember it was initially designed for entertainment. While you put on smiles on your audience’s faces, provide content that is lighthearted and brief as possible. Your content should be creative and very authentic. Pay attention to the comment section as well, to see what people like and dislike about your videos in order to create room for improvements. Also, always remember that the most important thing in creating content for your brand is that quality is always more important than quantity.

·Participate in Challenges and Utilize Hashtags
A good way to market your brand is by actively engaging with other TikTok users by creating a campaign that challenges others to upload videos related to a specific trend for your business and use the hashtag – #HashtagChallenge, and compel them to tag three or more of their friends so that, that way it slowly goes viral. Therefore, by engaging in a trend many people like, your video will be shown to more people frequently thanks to TikTok’s algorithm.

·Leverage On TikTok to Improve Your Brand Visibility
Going live on TikTok is a tool that many users of the platform fail to utilize. Going live can have a significant impact on your brand’s visibility. Your recent videos will also get shown to more people after going live. By leveraging your online presence, you can drive revenue from the platform to your business and track attribution. Also take advantage of captions. They guarantee that your content is fully viewable for your audience.

To effectively succeed in the marketing sphere, always look at what works and doesn’t work and apply it to what you think is best for your brand. It’s easy to get lost in the web of new discoveries but by following the right steps and trusting the process, you will be able to boost your business effectively using TikTok.

TikTok for business was just released recently and you can check out the app for more discovery on how to unleash your brand’s creative side.
