Founder of EDATECH, Sylvester Juwe, has urged the Nigerian government to help students by giving them digital tools for learning, noting that if teachers know how to use AI tools well, it can help students learn better.
Juwe made the call in a statement, stating that it’s important to empower teachers and students with AI and other digital tools for learning, especially in places where they’re hard to get.
He suggests that tech companies and the Ministry of Education could work together to create fun and useful learning platforms for every child.
According to him, the new EDATECH platform uses artificial intelligence to test students in a smart way, going beyond just asking multiple-choice questions.
“ this can help students learn better, especially in places where many languages are spoken”, he added.
He also urged Nigerian schools to create a suitable and comfortable environment for students to learn better.
“ Many classrooms are too crowded, and there aren’t enough resources. A lot of students in Africa finish primary school without good reading or math skills” he said.
While urging the government, NGOs, and private sector to collaborate and make learning better for students, he said he believes that investing in education is important for Africa’s future.
