With funding from ConnexUs and the European Commission, a vast growing digital marketing agency in Northern Nigeria – Zhibo Digital has trained 10 persons on diverse digital skills.
The training which held through the Digital Skills for Social Good, an initiative of a Co-founder at Zhibo Digital and Influencer for Change at ConnexUs, Joey Shekwonuzhibo was designed to enable access to digital marketing skills for persons that lost their jobs due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Participants introduce to an immersive curriculum that captured digital storytelling, social media management, website design, search engine optimization, marketing strategy execution amongst other vital subjects in digital marketing.
Speaking on the impact of the training, Agnes Onyekwere, one of the participants said, “Through the boot camp, I have been able to establish the importance of keeping up with the digital space so that I am not left out in the evolution of jobs”. According to Miss Onyekwere, she has learnt how to build a website and is looking forward to implementing most of the things she has learnt from the training.
In a separate remark, another participant, Kure Shekwoyemi said, “With the training, he is a better entrepreneur skilled to meet up with the 21st century market”. Mr Shekwoyemi intends to use the knowledge learnt to improve his business.
Meanwhile, Johnstone Kpilaakaa, the Growth Lead of Zhibo Digital appreciated ConnexUs and the European Commission for providing an opportunity for the participants. “We are already getting enquiries from people as regards when next we intend to hold the training, we do hope that subsequently we will get more funds to train more people”, he said.
Out of over 100 participants, 20 were selected and only 10 persons made it to the end of the boot camp that was facilitated by seasoned digital marketing professionals in Northern Nigeria including, Amama Benn Benedict of Benny Capricorn, Ahmad Yusuf of SKYHUB Nigeria and Esther Ivy Felix, a Content Marketer at Voyance.
