The Plateau State Information and Communication Technology Development Agency (PICTDA), has begun the its activities to initiate the young people of Plateau state with some digital skills, that will enable them to take control of the businesses, economy and entrepreneurship of the state.
The Agency started the its first ICT training started at Kuru, a small community in Jos-South Local Government Area, where the residents of the community were given a week ICT training.
Confirming the involvement of the community’s youths, the Director General of PICTDA, Mr. Daser David said, “We Kick started the PICTDA digital skills training in Jos South, starting with Kuru to bridge the digital access inequality gap in Plateau state. A minimum of about 20 students are undergoing this training with the hope of starting training in Vwang next week.”
This Digital Skills Training is part of the efforts of the Plateau State Government to bridge the tach talent in the gap. Aside this initiative, the state Govt through PICTDA has initiated Code Plateau – a software development and digital marketing training for graduates, PICTDA on Wheels; a digital skills training for rural areas as well as establishment of an innovation Centre in Quan’an Pan Local Government Area.
