Egypt-based e-commerce platform, Mumerz.com has today raised $1.2 million. The round was led by DisrupTech, a local venture capital firm established to back early stage startups with innovative ideas.
Founded by Amir Shenouda and Nadia Gamal El Din in 2021, the startup was created to provide an authentic shopping experience for mothers and children between the ages of 0-12.
Mumerz aims to bridge the communication gap for parents by providing information on the full range of products and brands that children would need before the need ever arises.
The startup handles logistics with the lowest flat shipping rates available.
Amir Shenouda, founder and Managing Partner at mumerz.com. says, “We believe that the mother, baby, and child online vertical is underserved in Egypt. The key to that is in delivering an optimal customer experience with a wide range of mother-baby and child products at affordable prices”.
The startup is the first and largest bilingual online shop for every substantial and minimal product targeted for mothers, babies, and children in Egypt.
Through its blog, Mumerzo empowers mums with content and tips to guide them through their motherhood journey.
Nadia Gamal El Din, Founder at Mumerz.com and Rahet Bally, says, “Mumerz.com acts as a natural continuation to Rahet Bally’s motherhood support services and allows us to serve millions of our moms who trust us, consume our content daily and use our discount services, as well as come to our fitness facilities.
Our company also capitalizes on Rahet Bally’s massive insights on exactly what moms need as well as a seasoned advisory team that recommends the best product fits based on Rahet Bally’s reviews across all product categories.”
