Following the announcement and introduction of the metaverse by the CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, more details in its utility is been provided as each day goes by.
Demystifying what the metaverse stands to give and what creators stand to achieve with its usage, Zuckerberg in a recent Facebook post revealed that the metaverse would offer more opportunities for creators to leverage on and get paid.
According to Zuckerberg, there’d an updated subscription as against the 30% fee that Apple takes on all transactions, thereby providing an opportunity for creators to earn more.
Three key points were highlighted to provide more insight into the new subscription and its opportunities. They are:
1. The company would be launching a promotional link for creators for their Subscriptions offering. When people subscribe using this link, creators will keep all the money they earn (minus taxes).
2. Creators will have more ownership of their audience — we’re giving the ability for them to download the email addresses of all of their new subscribers.
3. We’re launching a bonus program that pays creators for each new subscriber they get as part of our $1 billion creator investment announced this summer. More to come.
