UK-Nigeria Tech Hub, an initiative by the UK Government’s Department for Digital, Culture, Media, and Sports (DCMS) has teamed up with NerdzFactory, a human capital development, technology and advisory company to launch a Design, Product and Development school.
In a Facebook post, UK- Nigeria revealed that the aim of this new initiative is to empower and help many youths across the country to kick start a career in tech.
The school will be equipping participants with skills in Design which will include both Graphic and Product designs, Product Management and Software Development.
Through the program, individuals will be able to possess the necessary skills needed to enable them to begin a career in tech, alongside providing them with opportunities for employment in both the local and global sphere of the tech industry as well as entrepreneurship work streams.
The program will train 200 youths across 6 geopolitical zones in the country, and will be split into 2 sessions.
It’s first session will begin with 100 participants and will take place on the 22nd of November, 2021, while the second with the other half of participants will commence on the 10th of January, 2022.
