In our ever-evolving world today, with high proliferation of digital technologies and millions of people using AI daily, work and productivity have been made easier as Google launched Gemini 1.0 AI on the 6th of December.
Gemini AI is a generative AI built to understand the world and interact with it. The multimodal product is able to understand and operate not just text but also audio, code, images and videos.
The world leading company, Google, relaunched the product on the 31st of December as the initial product had modalities.
Speaking on the launch, Sundar Pichai, the CEO of Google and Alphabet said “I believe the transition we are seeing right now with AI will be the most profound in our lifetimes, far bigger than the shift to mobile or to the web before it. AI has the potential to create opportunities from the everyday to the extraordinary for people everywhere. It will bring new waves of innovation and economic progress and drive knowledge, learning, creativity and productivity on a scale we haven’t seen before.”
After the product was relaunched, over 150 features were added to Gemini to increase productivity, durability and optimization to fit different sizes like Gemini Ultra, Pro and Nano.
Some of the features in Gemini 1.0 include Next-generation capabilities, State-of-the-art performance, understanding text, image, audio and more for a detailed understanding of complex questions, sophisticated reasoning and so on.
Gemini’s state-of-the-art performance is built to supersede human intelligence with its massive multitask language understanding (MMLU) by bringing together 57 subjects like maths, medicine, and so on to increase its understanding and problem-solving skills.
Furthermore, with its user-friendly interface and product safety policies, Gemini AI has integrated adversarial techniques to ensure the safety of the product development.
In collaboration with other expert developer groups, Google is working to test out Gemini’s capacity and operations across various issues.
According to another report by Google, 2023 ushered in the Gemini era, Google’s Bard, alongside experimenting with various generative Search AI and so on.
In addition to Bard is a groundbreaking upgrade to a version of Gemini Pro to facilitate effective operations and advanced understanding. This upgrade is available to more than 170 countries in English.
Since it is programmed to also understand images, the Pixel 8 pro is the first mobile phone to which Gemini nano would be integrated into its pixels.
