The year 2023 came with its own experiences of
celebration, downturn, and several challenges for the people in Tech. It was indeed an amazing year despite the acquisition of various startup companies, layoffs and low procurement of funds to startups in the North.
As the year has come to an end and a new year begins , CRESTHUB has reached out to some of the major players in the Tech space making major impacts in Jos, Plateau State.
Here are their different perspectives on how 2023 unfolded for them and their aspirations for the New Year
Bashir Ahmad
What was your 2023 like?
For 2023, I had so many expectations, we did some amazing stuff at work, we ushered in a new government and at the same time, it came with a lot of ups and downs. We had a great year in the hub, made a lot of partnerships, had a lot of meet ups and I spoke in a lot of events and was also able to host a lot of tech events in the hub.
We expected a lot to happen, we thought the Startup Bill would be Implemented, that the state adoption will be implemented in Jos as it will go a long way in growing the ecosystem.
What was most challenging for you?
The hike in fuel really affected a lot of things, we needed to even work on our models and even our operations.
What are your aspirations for 2024?
I really want to see the implementation of the startup act on the Plateau, because it will go a long way in the thriving digital economy and help startups and founders really thrive and bring that socioeconomic growth to the ecosystem.
I look forward to seeing a lot of startups coming to pitch from the Plateau. I am also praying for collaborations between key ecosystem players.

What was your 2023 like?
2023 was an incredibly transformative and fulfilling year for Bluehouse Technologies. We have experienced remarkable growth and success, particularly with our flagship event, and Tech and Tea, which saw the active participation of over 15 speakers across 7 editions throughout the year.
Our commitment to bridging the technological gap in the Northern part of Nigeria further solidified with the successful launch of Infinity-gem, our Ed-tech platform.
The pinnacle of our accomplishments this year was the inaugural Jos TechFest 2023, the largest tech event in the region. Drawing in over 270 attendees, including decision-makers, experts, and technocrats.
What was most challenging for you?
While the year brought immense success, it wasn’t without its challenges. One of the primary hurdles we faced was navigating the complexities of hosting large-scale events, such as Jos TechFest, amidst the evolving circumstances related to the ongoing global situation. Ensuring the safety and well-being of our attendees, speakers, and partners required meticulous planning and adaptability.
Additionally, the rapid growth of our online learning platform, Infinity-Gem, presented operational challenges in scallop g up to meet with the increasing demand.
What are your resolutions for 2024?
Looking ahead to the new year, our aspirations for Bluehouse Technologies are centered around continued growth and impact. We aim to expand the reach of our training programs, consultations, and business solutions to empower even more individuals and enterprises in the Northern region.

It’s a year that brought about immense change in my life. It’s a year I achieved a lot after years of hard work and dedication. I remember the feeling of pure elation that washed over me as I received the call informing me of my acceptance into Western Union Foundation Fellowship and Amahoro Fellowship .
What was most challenging for you?
For me, this year presented a unique set of challenges that tested my resilience and adaptability in ways I never imagined.
One of the biggest challenges I faced this year was adjusting to the new normal brought on by fuel subsidy. I had to quickly adapt to stay productive and focused.
What are your aspirations for 2024?
Growth in business and more innovations.

2023 has been one of the most remarkable and challenging year in my life,it was beautiful at the same time cause we were able to create more opportunities for young people across different ecosystems so that they could leverage and build themselves so they were a couple of talented minds and it was amazing.
What was most challenging for you?
The most challenging thing is to be able to coordinate a community where every young person has the capacity to make a difference in the community. It is actually very crazy to create an enabling environment to thrive.
What are your aspirations for 2024?
Looking at the new year, we’re really looking forward to more partnerships and more collaborations and more synergy across the ecosystem where people come together to create something remarkable for the people and the world.

It’s was a great, interesting and very fast year for me, it appeared time was compressed, I did make much discovery and progress, understood how things work and the benefits of collaboration and partnerships
What was most challenging for you?
I won’t really call it a challenge per say but Not starting early enough. Sometimes we don’t really know how powerful we are in getting things done until we put extra effort with starting early
Happy new year from us at CRESTHUB, Cheers!
