The Plateau state government has received a report from the ICT Technical Steering Committee of the state, that reiterates the government’s dedication towards creating job opportunities for young people by developing its tech ecosystem and facilities to serve all Nigerians.
This was revealed by the Director General of the Plateau State Information and Communication Technology Development Agency (PITCDA), Dominic Gwaman, who received the report on behalf of the State governor.
Recall the commitment, governor Caleb Mutfwang’s administration made, to designate three floors at the Murtala House that constitute mini halls and offices to PITCDA for a conducive environment to train professionals in tech and promote international partnerships.
While taking a tour of the Murtala House facility in Jos on the 15th of December, 2023, accompanied by agency staff, and members of the ICT Technical Steering Committee, Dominic Gwaman Datong shared the plan of the government to maintain a lasting administration of the facility.
According to a report, Members of the Technical Committee in allegiance to the Plateau state ecosystem, submitted the ICT Strategic Report that highlights the government’s pact to develop policies that will foster a regulatory structure, innovative growth in ICT, workshop for personal, ICT Infrastructure and other promising sectors in the state.
This was followed by various discussions between these tech organizations and the States government directed at improving and developing the tech space on the Plateau.
The ICT Technical Steering Committee consists of Technology hubs, representatives from Tertiary Institutions In the state and other Technology companies as well as the Nigerian Computer Science(NCS) in Plateau State headed by Princeton Omo.
