Goal setting is an act of deciding with your mind what you want to acheive, how you want to achieve it and when you want to achieve it.
Remember, a goal without a plan is just a wish and wishes can’t come true if you don’t work towards it.
“The only thing standing between you and your goal is the bullshit story you keep telling youself as to why you can’t achieve it. – Jordon Belfest
In order to avoid some bullshit story to why you can’t achieve your goals as stated by Jordan Belfast, we will be taking a look at some smart tips on how to achieve a clear goal.
Know your goals:
Knowing your goals involves knowing what you want – total clarity. How you want it and when you want it. You should have a fixed picture of how you want your goals to be.
Make It Realistic:
Now, you have a clear picture of your goal on mind, you should now make it real. For example saying that you want build a mansion in a day is quite unrealistic and there is 99.9% chances that you cannot achieve them. People mistake setting a realistic goals for setting a low goals, aim for higher goals, do not relent.
Add a time frame to each of your goals.
Time frames serves as deadline for your goal to be accomplished. One thing a time frame does is to stimulate our mind and motivate is towards achieving our goals before the deadline.
Have your goals written down on paper:
Even though the human brain has been said to have a higher storage capacity than the computer, one cannot write off the fact that having a clearly written goal boosts our focus. Statistics shows that people with clearly written goals are 50% more likely to achieve them.
