The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and a blockchain firm, Gluwa have entered into a partnership to enhance e-naira adoption through Blockchain integration.
In a recent statement, the firm expressed it’s excitement “We’re thrilled to share monumental news. The CBN signed the Memorandum of Understanding with the firm” it reads.
Gluwa explained that the partnership focuses on leveraging blockchain technology to enhance the functionalities and adoption of Nigeria’s digital currency, the eNaira, through the integration of Gluwa’s credal integration.
The firm disclosed that the partnership plans to facilitate easier loan origination, tracking, settlement, and credit scoring for local fintech lenders, thereby promoting financial inclusion and innovation.
According to Gluwa, the collaboration aims to address the challenges hindering the adoption of the eNaira while enhancing its functionalities, paving the way for a more inclusive and efficient digital currency system in Nigeria.
