The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has announced that air travelers will now enjoy reduced prices on international flights.
The Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection at NCAA, Michael Achimugu, made the announcement through a post on his X official account on Thursday.
Achimugu said that international airlines have collectively agreed to reopen their low-inventory ticket prices for Nigerians to access lower ticket prices for international flights after a year of elevated international airfare costs.
“This development comes as a result of successful negotiations conducted by NCAA with international airlines operating within Nigeria” he said
He further said that the change is attributed to the strategic meetings led by Capt. Chris Najomo, the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), on February 12th and 13th, which were specifically aimed at negotiating more affordable airfare rates from international airlines for Nigerians.
This change is expected to ease the financial burden on Nigerians and make International travel more accessible.
