The African Digital Conference and Awards (ADCA) has announced that the nominations for its 2022 awards ceremony will be extended through October 27, 2022.
The African Digital Conference and Awards is an annual event that recognizes, celebrates and rewards Tech experts, Innovators, Entrepreneurs, Academics, Policymakers, Organizations, and Key Stakeholders in the tech industry across Africa.
The ADCA organizer Bright Ogor told CRESTHUB that the extension from the previous date, October 23, 2022, is to enable proper planning and effective execution of the digital conference and award ceremony.
“We had earlier planned to close the nomination and screening period on October 23, but taking into account some factors, we have extended it to the 27th, to give people enough time to nominate their preferred candidates”, he said.
The 2022 Award Categories are:
Governance in the Tech Category
African leadership in politics, business and the developmental space is making its contributions to advancing Technology and Innovation on the continent. This category of awards specializes in promoting, encouraging and celebrating these contributions.
Innovative use of tech in the Digital Economy
One of the major purposes of technology is to enhance growth in the economy. This award will reward an organization or company that has recognised the existence of technology and employs these new technologies to make digital changes in the economy such as providing structural transformation of the economy, demographic transition, and the urbanization process of rural areas.
Sustainable Environmental Tech Solutions
This award will recognize an organization that has provided solutions through technology for environmental concerns. Nominated organizations must have promoted long-term solutions such as providing waste reduction technologies, solar energy, crop rotation, and addressing the effects of global carbon emissions to both its community and outside.
Tech Company of the Year
This award recognizes tech organizations making an impact on society through their innovative, creative, strategic, and or entrepreneurial spirit. Organizations must have a track record of outstanding products or services with good performance and impact on society.
Best Tech Financial Support of the Year
ADCA will recognize the top African organization that provides funding for other tech start-up companies as well as linkages to accessing funds.

This category of award seeks to recognize organizations that are creating an enabling environment for technology to thrive. Nomination entries must be from organizations that have a reputable record as an incubation hub or are committed to raising and equipping individuals with digital tech skills.
Software Development Company of the Year
This category recognizes organizations whose products solve existing societal problems and transform lives for the better. Products qualified for entry must have been in existence for a minimum of twelve months.
Tech Company of the Year
This award recognizes tech organizations making an impact on society through their innovative, creative, strategic, and or entrepreneurial spirit. Organizations must have a track record of outstanding products or services with good performance and impact on society.
