The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) is set to host its third National essay competition. The essay competition which has ran concurrently for three wishes to highlight on the topic: 5G Technology: Opportunities and Challenges.
The laid objectives of the essay competition are to increase awareness on 5G technology, engage and enhance research, encourage academic competition and excellence and also, build capacity of undergraduates in Nigerian tertiary institutions.
The eligibility criteria of the competition are:
• All participants must be undergraduates of both private and public universities
• All participants are expected to register their personal details in the form provided for download on the NCC website, signed by their Deans as genuine Nigerian Undergraduates
• All essays will be subjected to plagiarism checks
• Winners would be invited by the committee members to defend their essays by way of presentation. Candidates that cannot successfully defend their submissions will be disqualified.
The essay competition is meant to contain a minimum of 500 words and a maximum of 1000 words, with an abstract, introduction, main body and conclusion, proper referencing and must be submitted to the NCC in a PDF format with all necessary attachments.
The prizes for this year’s essay competition include a laptop, printer and 500,000 for the first prize, 2300,000 and 200,000 respectively for both second and third prize.
All entries are to be submitted on or before, Friday July 30th, 2021 as winners would be announced on Monday, September 13th, 2021.
