Dangote refinery is set to begin processing crude oil after receiving the last batch of the intended 6 million barrels of crude oil from Agbami barrels of crude via MT ALMI SUN.
The company confirmed this in a statement on Monday that the recent batch of 1 million Agbami crude barrels are the last to complete the initial 6 million barrels needed by the company to kickstart operations.
The managing Director of Dangote ports operations, Akin Omole, said that the completion of 6 million barrels would facilitate the commencement of productions in the refinery.
“Once the six million barrels are fully delivered, it will facilitate the initial run of the refinery as well as kick start the production of diesel, aviation fuel, and Liquefied Petroleum Gas before subsequently processing to the production of premium motor spirit,” he said.
One month ago, Dangote refinery received its first batch of 1 million barrels of crude oil from one of Nigeria’s biggest trading companies, Shell International Trading and Shipping Company Limited,
Ever since, it has continued to receive the crude oil in batches, and the 6th batch of the 1 million barrels was received on Monday at the Dangote Offshore Oil Terminal.
According to the company, it’s services can carter for 100 percent of Nigeria’s needs in regards to refined products like kerosene, diesel, gasoline and so on, with enough to export to the foreign market.
